Tuesday kids and families preparing for the new school year can find help at the Annual Catoctin Community School Supply Program being held at Graceham Moravian Church from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. This program is sponsored by area churches and organizations in Emmitsburg, Lewistown, Rocky Ridge, Sabillasville & Thurmont and benefits all the Catoctin Feeder Schools.

Tuesday the Clothes Closet at Thurmont United Methodist Church opens once again from 10-11:30 a.m.

Tuesday through Saturday the Thurmont Ambulance Co. invites you to their carnival at the Thurmont Event Complex on Strafford Dr. with rides, games, raffles, live music, nightly buffet & more.

Thursday the Catoctin Forest Alliance continues with their Speaker Series featuring Wildlife in the Neighborhood at the Thurmont Regional Library with Maryland Park Service Naturalist Mollie Kemp from 7- 9 p.m.

Saturday checkout the Strawberry Festival at Grace Rocky Hill Lutheran Church on Coppermine Rd. in Woodsboro featuring music by the Rivers Bend Band at 4 p.m.

Sunday enjoy Music on the Deck with the The Knuckle Dusters at the Thurmont Regional Library from 2-3:30 p.m.

Sunday get ready for school at the Backpack Blessing for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton’s Birthday at The National Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton in Emmitsburg at 2:30 p.m. Students of all ages and faiths are welcome to bring their backpacks.
